St. Stephen – Environmentalist Jennifer Cameron was awarded the Paul Casey Environmental Award at a small ceremony held in St. Stephen today. The award is given annually by ACAP St. Croix to a member of the community who has made a significant contribution to improving the environment and quality of life in the St. Croix River Valley. It is named after former ACAP St. Croix Board Chair Paul Casey, a well-known border resident who was active in local environmental work. At 23, Jennifer is the youngest recipient of this award.

In making the presentation on behalf of ACAP St. Croix, Board Member Paul Donahue commented on the many contribution made by Jennifer and the maturity and leadership she exhibited during her two years with ACAP St. Croix and the Ganong Nature Park. “Her leadership and friendliness impressed everyone and we will all miss her.” he said as he presented her with a framed certificate.

Originally from Hampton, N.B., Jennifer was trained in the environmental field at New Brunswick Community College, Miramichi and became Chief Technician and Supervisor of the Ganong Nature and Marine Park in 2001.
